Want to be a very modern Milwaukee V-twin, but long for the look of simple lines of a simple era? Something with a classic biker look? Something truly unique? Well, no farther than ’96 FXSTS Springer Softail, re-creation of the modern view of the 1940′s high tariffs. Clean style, classic, with some new improvements for model year 1996.

All Softail models feature electronic speedometers this year, along with a new, even taking the flasher module, which contains an integral sealed connector. This, coupled with the new surface mount technology, results in a smaller size and increased durability. Softails on the new one piece instrument console and round-ignition is now standard.

On the street is the feel of a classic Harley Springer Softail. Its solid-mounted 1340cc Evo engine is smooth running one of the Harley V-Twin made on the side-mounted iso FLH models found. Handling is surprisingly easy, Softail disguising its weight of 625 pounds as well. The Rockertail rear section mounts a wide fender directly to the swing arm, just an inch over a big 240 mm x 18-inch rear tire. The Rocker rear fender and wheel move in unison as the Rockertail glides through 3.4 inches of rear suspension travel.
